In this busy world with school, work, little league, clubs, and everything in between, we need something to bring the families back together. reConnect is a ministry program designed to bring families together and to reConnect to God. There will be a lesson, discussion, prayer time, and some worship. What makes reConnect special is that we will challenge each family to try it at home. You will be given all the tools, you just make the time.

Wednesday Nights In the KIDZONE
6:30 - 8 PM Lesson

Here is how reConnect has impacted the Meiring Family.

reConnect has been an amazing source of enjoyment for my family. Unfortunately, my husband, Tony, hasn't been able to make it, due to night classes at school. However, that has also been a blessing. Our girls (Madison age 8 and Taylor age 4) have been able to rely the messages from our Wednesday night lessons to Tony in their own words and with their own stories of how it applies to them. I am so proud to hear my girls talk about the lessons they've learned and how it affects them.

For instance, in one of the reConnect lessons, we learned about too much baggage. Part of our homework for the week was to "Run a Race". Tony and I set up a track that included ALL of our downstairs, running out the front door, and running back in the house through the garage. The track included running in and out of furniture, weaving around tables, opening doors and not getting trampled by our VERY LARGE DOG. We recorded times for each person (Tony and I both felt we had to show the "young kids" how it's done-so we ran the track as well.) After everyone ran the course, then we dressed each of the girls in a ridiculous amount of extra clothing and a pair of shoes that were about 8 sizestoo big for each of them. We let them run the course again. Of course, their times weren't as quick as the first round, but that was the point. This lesson allowed the girls to recognize that sometimes we just try to put TOO MUCH STUFF in our lives. Madison did offer to give up her school work. How selfless of her?! I thanked her and told her that wouldn't be necessary. In all seriousness, she did acknowledge that she might be taking on too much with soccer. So I told her we would reevaluate her schedule in the spring and see if she should play. She does love soccer, but she realizes that it may be too much.

As a parent to be able watch those exact moments when your children "get it"-IT'S PRICELESS. That is what reConnect is for us-priceless moments watching our family grow centered around the Lord. You can't beat it!!

Another cool part was some of our neighbors were outside while we were running in and out of the house. I have to say we did get a few strange looks!! It did open the door for me to discuss church and God to our neighbors. Since then, one of our neighbors has already been to church with us and they are also very excited to attend reConnect with us next week. I think this will be a great tool to bring our friendship closer together and on a different level- one that is centered around the Lord.
